Building Your Referral Network

Building Your Referral Network

Strong networks don’t grow on their own. They thrive when partners actively participate, sending referrals, responding quickly, and closing the loop so individuals get the support they need. The best way to strengthen your network is by sharing the “why” behind your work and showing others the value of collaboration.

Here are a few proven ways to build referral trust and engagement across your network:

Identify the Right Partners:

Take time to map out which organizations you need on the network to meet your community’s needs, then share that list with your CSM so we can help bring them on board. We provide a unique VIP link and QR code to every customer during implementation. These can be shared directly with organizations you want to invite to your network. If you need help locating your VIP link, you can request it here. 💡Your CSM can help you design the optimal network, balancing the number of CBOs (quantity) with having the right organizations (quality).

Tell the Story:

Share real examples of how referrals led to better outcomes. Stories make the value of the network tangible. We’ve made this easier for you – with templates for:

  • Co-branded social posts: Share how your organization is working within the network and invite others to join.
  • Local press releases: Announce your participation in the network and highlight early wins or community impact.
  • Email campaigns: Reach out to partner organizations or providers to explain how referrals work and how to get involved.

Make It a Community:

Invite partners to meetings, learning sessions, or joint initiatives that reinforce shared goals. You can reach out to your CSM if you want to co-host a session.

Refer Other Organizations:

Our Referral Program makes it easy to strengthen your community and connect more organizations to a trusted, collaborative platform. When you refer an organization and they join, we’ll expand access to services, improve coordination, and increase impact—plus, we’ll donate to a nonprofit of your choice!

How Unite Us Markets & Grows Your Network

How Unite Us Markets & Grows Your Network

We’re committed to helping your network grow and thrive, not just locally, but as part of a larger movement. Through coordinated national and regional strategies, we raise awareness of the Unite Us approach, build trust with partners, and drive ongoing engagement.

Here’s how our behind-the-scenes marketing efforts strengthen and sustain your network:

  • National Campaigns: We lead awareness efforts at the national level, such as paid digital advertising and social media campaigns, that showcase the Unite Us approach to coordinated care. These campaigns are designed to strengthen brand recognition, highlight our impact stories, and support market education. They are not intended to fund or replace local advertising for individual partners but rather to create broad visibility that benefits the entire network.
  • Regional and Local Events: From our flagship One Continuum events to local events co-hosted with partners, our team shares success stories and outcomes from across the country, showcasing the impact of networks like yours and encouraging others to join.
  • Ongoing Webinars: Unite Us hosts monthly events featuring live demos and practical takeaways. Regular offerings include:
    • Monthly Information Sessions: Attendees will see a quick demo and learn how to join a growing cross-sector care network.
    • Communities of Practice: Local online meetings for existing partners focusing on network health and collaboration. Email communitygrowth@uniteus.com to discuss steps in building a “Community of Practice” in your area.
  • Newsletter: Our monthly Community newsletter promotes events, shares the latest resources, and highlights case studies and news about CBO-specific needs. Ensure you are registered by signing up on our website.
    • Our monthly newsletters promote events, share the latest resources, and highlight case studies and news about customer and CBO-specific needs. Encourage potential partners to sign up on our website: https://uniteus.com/subscribe
  • Customizable Assets: We provide ready-to-use templates, graphics, and messaging you can adapt to your own outreach—making it easier to promote your services and network.

Together, these efforts build visibility, attract new partners, and reinforce the value of your network in the community.

FAQs & Support

FAQs & Support

Who tracks new CBO progress?

Your Customer Success Manager (CSM), in collaboration with the Unite Us Community Growth Team, keeps a close eye on your network’s growth and health. They monitor referrals, track activation milestones for new partners, and help identify any barriers slowing adoption. You’ll get regular updates from your CSM so you can see progress and work together on solutions.

How fast is onboarding?

Most partners are up and running within 2–3 business days after signing up. They’ll receive automated onboarding emails, self-guided training materials, and access to our support team. Your CSM can also schedule live training or a quick Q&A session to ensure partners feel confident using the platform.

Can we host a local event?

Absolutely! Local events are one of the best ways to build relationships and grow your referral network. Ask your CSM about co-hosting options, including branded invitation templates, help with event promotion, presentation slides, or ideas for engaging partners during and after the event.

What should I expect from Unite Us?

You’ll have ongoing support from both your CSM and our broader Unite Us team. That includes regular engagement, event promotion assistance, adoption support strategies, and access to Unite Us–led awareness campaigns and ready-to-use marketing materials.

How do I keep my partners engaged?

Engagement is key to long-term success. Some tried-and-true ways to keep your network active include:

  • Share quick wins: Celebrate completed referrals and highlight partner success stories.
  • Offer regular training refreshers: Invite partners to short “tips & tricks” sessions.
  • Communicate consistently: Send monthly newsletters or emails with updates, resources, and reminders.
  • Invite feedback: Ask partners what’s working and what could improve.

Where can I find success stories and case studies?

We believe real-world examples are the best way to show the power of a coordinated care network. We regularly feature our partners’ success stories in our blog and case studies, highlighting topics such as:

You can access these stories and other valuable insights by visiting the Unite Us blog or our Case Studies page.

Can we offer incentives to encourage partners to join and stay engaged?

Yes! Offering incentives like credit, recognition, or other rewards is an excellent way to boost engagement and participation. We recommend coordinating with your CSM to discuss your incentive program and how to best promote it to your network partners.

Is it okay to post our relationship with Unite Us on our website?

Absolutely. We encourage you to announce your partnership on your website and social channels. We provide promotional copy, logos, and success stories to help you share your commitment to coordinated care with your community. Local Press Releases

Announce your participation in the network and highlight early wins or community impact.

Press releases are one of the best ways to announce new partnerships and highlight the value you’re bringing to the community. They showcase collaboration, build credibility, and provide content you and your partners can repurpose across newsletters, social media, and events. Strong releases not only celebrate your progress but also invite others to connect with your work. For inspiration, take a look at Partner Press Releases on our website.

Unite Us is here to help you spread your news! To make it easy, we have a PR Toolkit with different options to easily create an impactful announcement: use our ready-to-go template, answer a short questionnaire for us to draft it on your behalf, or write it yourself! Request the toolkit from your Unite Us point of contact or email communications@uniteus.com.
